Featuring incredibly talented local acts that are sure to make you dance, stopping by Dupont Circle on Saturdays in July is a must. This event page will update closer to the event dates with all the details you need.
Our 7/6 performance with the Too Much Talent Band has been postponed. An alternate date will be revealed shortly! Our next edition of Music in the Circle will be on Saturday, July 13.

7/13: Simone Baron Trio (Jazz and Accordion)

Simone Baron is a polyglot pianist, accordionist, improviser and composer whose work “ego-less, genre agnostic and without expectations” (JazzTimes) engages curiously and charismatically with a broad spectrum of idioms.

Educated at Oberlin and Tel Aviv University and joyfully de-educated at festivals and performances across Europe and the Americas, Simone has won grants, fellowships, commissions and residencies from Chamber Music America, South Arts, the Hambidge Center, Sacatar Foundation, Strathmore, Marble House Project, Avaloch Farm, the Banff Centre, and Spectrum Toronto to name a few.

In 2016 Simone founded Arco Belo, a diasporic chamber music ensemble that has toured nationally. Simone is a Victoria Artist and plays a Poeta XB Accordion, and is a founding member of the Boulanger Initiative.

7/20: One Man Steel Drum Band: Michael George

Whether he's serenading U.S. troops in Kosovo, entertaining audiences in Suriname, Kuwait or performing throughout the United States, Trinidad native Michael George blends the sounds of the steelpan, harmonica, cymbal, maracas, cowbell and drums to create a unique sound. His one man act is energetic and memorable, combining several genres, including, R&B, gospel, jazz, calypso and reggae. Michael began playing music at an early age, soon sharing his special talents with the world. He fuses the sounds of seven instruments to create a harmony like no other!

7/27: Simone Baron & Contra Ponte!

The illustrious Simone Baron will return to Dupont Circle with Contra Ponte for some Brazilian Funk! More information on this iteration of Music in the Circle coming soon.
