Fairmont's Mother's Day Brunch

On Sunday, May 12, at 11am and 2:30pm, The Colonnade at Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown is honoring all mothers with a bountiful Mother’s Day Brunch. An authentically local and favorite of Washingtonians, the Colonnade’s brunch has pleased the palates of many mothers and their families for over 39 years.


Executive Chef Jaime Montes de Oca, Executive Sous Chef Jason Rowley and Executive Pastry Chef Claus Olsen are preparing a variety of regional favorites and innovative specialties, all artfully styled in seemingly infinite buffets. The beautiful setting, featuring greenery, natural sunlight, soaring ceilings and crystal chandeliers, is a perfect backdrop for Mother’s Day Brunch.


Among the Chefs’ Mother’s Day Brunch offerings is a raw and fresh catch display featuring jumbo prawns, crab claws, black mussels, local oysters and bay scallops with Marie Rose sauce, cocktail mignonette and hot dipping sauces. A cheese and charcuterie board with local cheeses, smoked, cured and air-dried meats and artisanal breads, along with a garden fresh salad presentation, adds to Mother’s special day. Entrée selections include a carving station of rockfish, tarragon beurre blanc and Shenandoah leg of lamb, green peppercorn sauce. While, Signature dishes consist of Murray’s chicken, brown butter balsamic, Chesapeake crab cake, 1855 petite filet, green peppercorn and toasted orzo primavera, mascarpone. A made-to-order omelet station, breakfast favorites and freshly backed pastries also abound.


The children’s buffet includes grilled chicken fingers, beef sliders, potato pancakes, steamed spring vegetables and the ever-popular macaroni and cheese.


Save room for Executive Pastry Chef Claus Olsen’s decadent pastry display- guaranteed to please any mother’s sweet tooth. Lemon verbena texture, cherry panna cotta, chocolate hazelnut pave crunch and red rose piped Pavlova domes with strawberries are just a sampling of Chef Olsen’s patisserie.


An electric violinist will provide musical entertainment and all mothers will receive a beautiful flower to commemorate their special day.


Mother’s Day Brunch, offered on Sunday, May 12 at 11am and at 2:30pm is $169 per person includes a glass of sparkling wine, or $199 with two-hours of bottomless mimosas. Children enjoy brunch for $79 for children 5 to 12 years old and free for children under 5. ALL members* receive a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine for their table.
